Lonely Planet: Da Nang ranks among the best summer destinations in Asia this year (2026).
Da Nang has been ranked second on the list of Asia’s most attractive destinations this summer by the renowned international travel magazine Lonely Planet, describing the central Vietnamese coastal city as the ideal destination for a beach vacation.

My Khe Beach is notable for its turquoise waters and long stretches of fine white sand.
Da Nang is lauded as a standout destination in Vietnam, ideal for those who love outdoor activities. In this coastal city, visitors can enjoy themselves on beautiful beaches like My Khe and Non Nuoc or explore impressive architectural landmarks such as the Dragon Bridge. Besides its abundant natural resources, Da Nang also boasts a rich history and culture rooted in the Cham culture, showcased at the Cham Sculpture Museum.

Notably, this city is rated as one of the most livable places in Southeast Asia thanks to its modern amenities at affordable prices. International tourists can comfortably spend money, experience top-notch services, and fully enjoy their trip even during peak tourist season.
In particular, from Da Nang, it only takes about an hour to travel to Hoi An – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – allowing visitors to combine a beach resort experience with exploring the depth of culture and heritage in the same trip. Hoi An Ancient Town stands out with its preserved heritage values through ancient architectural structures, bearing the strong imprint of time. The space here still preserves the traditional way of life with small streets, handicraft shops, and a slow pace of life, giving visitors a feeling of peace and nostalgia.

According to Lonely Planet, summer in Vietnam is also the ideal time to enjoy typical refreshing treats like sweet soups or iced milk coffee – flavors that contribute to a fresh, exciting, and unique travel experience.
Besides Da Nang, other destinations recommended by Lonely Planet include Busan (South Korea); Singapore; Shimla (India); Bali (Indonesia); Almaty (Kazakhstan); Sendai (Japan); Chengdu (China); and the Altai Mountains (Mongolia).
