An American magazine honored two Vietnamese train journeys in the top 20 most beautiful train trips in the world
American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler just released its list of the 20 most beautiful train journeys in the world for 2026, voted by readers, and Vietnam has two representatives: the train connecting the Central Heritage route from Hue to Da Nang and The Vietage by Anantara.
As part of the 39th annual Readers’ Choice Awards, Condé Nast Traveler dedicates a category to celebrate rail journeys that offer exceptional travel experiences. According to the magazine, while travel times may be longer than by air, trains allow visitors to slow down to enjoy the natural landscapes, fields, villages and serene countryside along the way.
Notably, Vietnam appears with two journeys in 10th and 14th place, showing the attraction of Vietnamese rail tourism, from heritage and scenic exploration trips to luxury resort experiences.

The Central Vietnam Heritage Journey Train

Ranked 10th is the train connecting Central Vietnam’s heritage sites, Hue – Da Nang, which opened in early 2024. The journey lasts about three hours, taking visitors through standout natural spots like the Tam Giang – Cau Hai lagoon, Lang Co Bay, and the majestic Hai Van Pass.
The Vietage by Anantara ranks 14th, and it’s a luxury train connecting Da Nang with Quy Nhon and Nha Trang along Vietnam’s central coast. On the journey, travelers get the chance to admire rice fields, villages, and the coastal mountain ranges typical of Vietnam.
Besides the two train journeys in Vietnam, Condé Nast Traveler also suggests impressive railway experiences such as: Switzerland’s Jungfrau, the highest train in Europe, the Silk Road train in Central Asia, exploring the Indian Ocean in Australia, the Canyon Spirit in the US, and exploring Canada…
