A Vietnamese food street has made it into the top 10 most interesting streets in the world
Vinh Khanh Food Street (Ho Chi Minh City) was recently honored by the famous British travel magazine Time Out in its list of the 31 most impressive streets in the world in 2025.
“Food, fun, culture, and community” is how Time Out magazine describes these 31 top destinations. These neighborhoods allow visitors to experience local life in the most vivid and authentic way. Not the avenues or big chain stores, but the alleys, residential areas, and lively small streets—where traditional grocery shops, street food stalls, and bustling bars and pubs at night gather. The ranking list is nominated and evaluated by editors and local experts based on the criteria of food, drinks, culture, entertainment, and community spirit.
Seafood and shellfish are specialty dishes at Vinh Khanh food street.
The street is about 1 km long, notable for the ‘mini culinary world’ on both sides, from seafood restaurants that are always full every evening, snail shops with a variety of unique dishes, sidewalk beer stalls, to enticing desserts like sweet soups, ice cream, fruits, shaved ice syrups, and coffee…
What adds to Vĩnh Khánh Street’s special charm is its lively atmosphere: street vendors attract customers with the aroma of grilled dried squid, street performers entertain, the sizzling sound of pans, clinking beer glasses, and sidewalk karaoke singing all blend together to create an authentic, approachable vibe characteristic of Saigon at night.
Visitors to Vinh Khanh come not only to savor distinctive cuisine but also to experience the rhythm of life, culture, and the unique community spirit of the city—elements that have made this street one of the most interesting destinations in the world in 2025.
